Time: 9:30 -11:30am & 12 – 2pm.
It’s Earth Week and that means it’s time to give back and help make the Earth a better place for everyone! For-Mar is inviting classrooms and students grade 5th – 12th to join us as we work on 5 different Youth Service Projects, themed around past Earth Day Foundation themes. Each day the service projects will follow a Learn/Work/Teach and Take Action Model.
Day 2’s theme is Birding for Climate Action. Throughout today’s service project, students will: “Learn” – about how birds can be bio-indicators of climate change and about citizen science bird count projects they can take part in, “Work”- to clean-up and replant the Birding Garden behind the For-Mar Visitor Center, and “Teach and Take Action” – by creating a ‘class bird feeder’ to take back to their school and a plan for their school to join in a Citizen Science Bird Count through the National Audubon Society.
For 5th – 12th grades, all abilities.
