America 250 Commission

The Genesee County America 250 Commission was formed to plan and coordinate the county’s celebration of the United States’ 250th anniversary in 2026. Marking 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, this milestone offers a unique opportunity to reflect on the nation’s history while looking ahead to its future.

In Genesee County, the Commission is working with local partners to develop events, programs, and initiatives that highlight the people, places, and stories that define the region. From historic sites and cultural institutions to parks and community spaces, this effort aims to bring residents and visitors together through meaningful and memorable experiences.
